Make sure that you spend the money on this and do your research to make sure it’s done right. Once the sheetrock was in, we had a plumber install the lining and made sure the shower was properly in place to avoid future water damage. We tried to save some of the walls, but we knew that if we wanted it to look seamless, we needed to get rid of everything completely. We started demo by taking down the walls and removing everything that was water damaged. We realized during our other home renovation projects that this bathroom actually had a leak and the shower was built incorrectly. We did not intend to remodel this bathroom and actually started to paint it to try to get it to our liking. The original bathroom was not too bad, but definitely a little outdated.
